This policy lists the cookies used on ogofx.com and in the client portal, what each is for, and how you can control them.
1. About this policy
1.1 This Cookie Policy explains which cookies are used when you visit ogofx.com and when you use the client portal at portal.ogofx.com, including the OGOFX web terminal, and what each one is for.
1.2 It should be read with the Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data in general.
2. What cookies are
2.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, and that the browser sends back to the same website on later requests. Cookies let a site remember that you are signed in from one page to the next.
2.2 Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Others last for a set time, which can restart each time you use the site, and stay on your device after the browser closes. The client portal's cookies are all of the second kind (section 4). A first-party cookie is set by the site you are visiting; a third-party cookie is set by another company, usually for advertising or tracking.
3. Cookies on ogofx.com
3.1 The public website ogofx.com does not set any cookies of its own. You can read every page, including prices and documents, without accepting a cookie from OGOFX.
4. Cookies in the client portal
4.1 The client portal and the web terminal use only cookies that are strictly necessary for them to work securely. They are first-party cookies, set by portal.ogofx.com itself.
| Cookie | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages of the portal and the terminal, and links your requests to your account. Without it you would have to sign in on every page. | 2 hours from your last request to the portal. It is not removed when you close the browser. |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Carries a random token that proves a form or instruction — such as a withdrawal request or an order — was sent from the portal itself, and not forged by another website you have open. | 2 hours from your last request to the portal. It is not removed when you close the browser. |
| Keep-me-signed-in cookie | Set only if you tick “Keep me signed in” when you sign in. It lets the portal sign you back in on that browser after your session has ended. | About 400 days, or until you sign out on that browser |
4.2 The client portal is served over encrypted (HTTPS) connections, so these cookies travel encrypted. They do not record the pages you visit for any purpose other than running your session.
4.3 Because closing the browser does not remove these cookies, sign out when you finish, especially on a computer other people use. Signing out on a browser also ends its keep-me-signed-in cookie.
4.4 Because they are strictly necessary, these cookies do not need your consent and cannot be switched off inside the portal.
5. Cookies we do not use
5.1 OGOFX does not set advertising cookies, analytics cookies or social media cookies, on ogofx.com or in the client portal.
5.2 We do not use cookies to build a profile of you, to show you advertising on other websites, or to share your browsing with advertisers.
5.3 If we ever decide to use cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
6. Other storage in your browser
6.1 The web terminal saves your settings in your browser’s own storage rather than in cookies: the theme, the instrument, timeframe and chart type you last used, the studies and drawings on your charts, and whether one-click trading is on. On a phone it also saves your favourite instruments and the market list you last viewed. These settings stay on your device and are not sent to us with your requests.
6.2 While a deposit or withdrawal form is open, the client portal keeps what you have entered, such as the amount and address, in that browser tab only, so that it is not lost if the page reloads. It is cleared when the request is finished or the tab is closed.
6.3 The companies that host and protect our websites may process technical data, such as your IP address, to deliver pages and to block attacks. This is described in section 6 of the Privacy Policy.
7. How to control cookies
7.1 Every modern browser lets you see, block and delete cookies, usually under its privacy or security settings. You can delete OGOFX cookies at any time; you will then be signed out of the client portal. Clearing your browser’s site data also removes the terminal settings described in section 6.1.
7.2 Blocking all cookies does not affect the public website. It does stop the client portal and the web terminal from working, because they cannot keep you signed in.
8. Changes to this policy
8.1 We will update this policy if the cookies we use change. The new version is published on this page with its new effective date at the top. Changes are notified in the same way as changes to the Client Agreement and the Terms of Business.
9. Contact and complaints
9.1 Questions about cookies can be sent to support@ogofx.com. Support is available 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
9.2 To make a complaint, email support@ogofx.com with the word “Complaint” in the subject line, and give your registered email address, the account number concerned, what happened and the outcome you want. OGOFX answers in writing by email. This is the one complaints procedure for every OGOFX document, as set out in the Client Agreement.
