This document applies to every client of OGOFX and to every trading account, whether Standard, Raw or Pro. In it, "OGOFX", "we" and "us" mean OGOFX, and "you" means the client.
Risk warning. Trading CFDs on margin can lose you all the money in your trading account, and losses can build quickly. Read this disclosure in full before you deposit.
1. About this disclosure
1.1 This Risk Disclosure explains the main risks of trading contracts for difference (CFDs) with OGOFX and of funding an OGOFX account with USDT. When you register in the client portal, you accept the Client Agreement, the Terms of Business and the Regulations for Non-Trading Operations, and you confirm that you have read the Risk Disclosure, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.
1.2 It cannot describe every risk. Read it in full before you open a trading account or send any money, and read it again when you change how you trade. If you do not understand a risk described here, do not trade until you do.
1.3 OGOFX operates under local licence no. 8256953 and is licensed on the OGO platform. This disclosure does not state or imply any other authorisation.
1.4 OGOFX does not serve residents of the United States.
2. General risk warning
2.1 CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money.
2.2 Trade only with money you can afford to lose in full. Do not trade with borrowed money, with money you need for living costs, or with money held for someone else.
2.3 Past prices, past results and any example on the OGOFX website or in the client portal are not a guide to future results.
3. What a CFD is
3.1 A CFD is an agreement to exchange the difference between the price of an instrument when a position opens and its price when the position closes. You do not own, buy or take delivery of the currency, metal, index or commodity the CFD is based on, and you have no rights in it.
3.2 CFDs are traded off exchange. A position opened with OGOFX can only be closed with OGOFX, in the OGOFX web terminal, at the prices OGOFX quotes. It cannot be moved to another provider or sold to a third party.
3.3 OGOFX offers 51 CFDs in four classes: 32 currency pairs, 5 metals, 11 indices and 3 energy markets. The contract size, digits, minimum lot, lot step, margin currency and profit currency of each instrument are published in the contract specifications. You are responsible for knowing them before you trade.
3.4 Profit and loss on a position is calculated in the instrument's profit currency and converted into the account currency, US dollars. Where the profit currency is not US dollars (for example USDJPY, which settles in Japanese yen, or GER40, which settles in euros), movements in that exchange rate change the value of your result in US dollars, even when the instrument's own price does not move.
4. Leverage and margin
4.1 Leverage lets you open a position much larger than the money in your account. The margin you put up is only a fraction of the position's full value. A small price movement against you produces a loss that is large compared with your margin.
4.2 You choose the leverage of each trading account when you open it, from 1:1 up to the account maximum: 1:500 on Standard, 1:500 on Raw and 1:200 on Pro. Higher leverage increases both possible losses and possible gains. A lower leverage reduces the size of position your balance can support and the speed at which losses build.
4.3 Example. A position worth 100,000 US dollars opened at a leverage of 1:100 needs margin of 1,000 US dollars. A move of 1% in the price changes its value by 1,000 US dollars, the whole of the margin it uses. At 1:10 the same position needs 10,000 US dollars of margin, but the same 1% move still gains or loses 1,000 US dollars. Leverage changes how much margin a position needs, not how much it can lose. The figures are an illustration only.
4.4 Margin level is your equity divided by the margin in use, as a percentage. The margin call and stop-out levels are 100% and 50% on Standard, 100% and 50% on Raw, and 100% and 50% on Pro, as shown on the accounts page. When the margin level falls to the margin call level, your account is close to stop-out and you should add funds or reduce your positions. When it falls to the stop-out level, positions are closed automatically at the next available market price until the margin level is back above the stop-out level or no positions remain. A stop-out closes positions at a loss and does not wait for prices to recover.
4.5 Fast markets can take an account from the margin call level to stop-out before you are able to act. You are responsible for watching your account at all times.
5. Losses deeper than your balance
5.1 You can lose all of the money in your trading account.
5.2 If a market moves so quickly that a stop-out or a stop loss closes a position at a price that takes the account below zero, OGOFX writes off the negative amount and the balance stops at zero. You do not owe OGOFX that amount. This protection applies to each trading account on its own. It does not return money already lost.
6. Market risk and volatility
6.1 Prices of currencies, metals, indices and energy move continually and can move sharply. They react to interest rate decisions, economic data, political events, wars, natural disasters, company results, supply disruptions and many other factors no one can predict or control.
6.2 Volatility can be extreme around scheduled news, at the open and close of the underlying markets, over weekends and holidays, and when liquidity is thin. In these conditions losses can grow faster than you can react.
6.3 Energy and metals markets can move by large amounts in a single session. Index CFDs follow equity markets that can fall heavily on one piece of news. Currency pairs, including the major pairs, can move by several percent in minutes after unexpected decisions by central banks or governments.
7. Market gaps and slippage
7.1 A gap is a jump in price from one level to another with no trading in between. Gaps happen most often when a market reopens after a weekend or a daily break, and after unexpected news.
7.2 OGOFX uses market execution. Your order is routed to the liquidity provider and filled at the price available when it reaches the market, which may differ from the price on your screen when you clicked. The difference is called slippage. Slippage can be in your favour or against you.
7.3 A stop loss is not a guarantee. When the price reaches a stop loss, a take profit or a pending order, the order becomes a market order and is filled at the next available price. When the price gaps through your level, that price may be much worse than the level you set. A pending order is not filled at all if the market never reaches its level.
7.4 A take profit, a stop loss or a pending order may be filled at a different price, or not filled, if the price touches your level only briefly or in a gap.
8. Liquidity and trading hours
8.1 Liquidity is the amount of buying and selling available at a given moment. When liquidity is low, spreads widen, slippage increases and large orders may be filled in parts or at worse prices.
8.2 Each instrument trades only during its sessions, set in broker server time (UTC+3 at the time of publishing; it moves by an hour with daylight saving) and shown on the trading hours page and in the terminal. Outside its sessions you cannot open, close or change a position in that instrument, even if the price moves against you. Some index CFDs have a break in the middle of the trading day or a shorter session on Fridays, and sessions can change around public holidays in the underlying markets.
8.3 Spreads are variable. EURUSD spreads start from 0.1 pips on Standard, 0.0 pips on Raw and 0.0 pips on Pro. These are the lowest spreads each account can show, not typical spreads: spreads are often wider, especially around news, at market opens and at the daily rollover. A wider spread can bring an account closer to stop-out without any change in the mid price.
8.4 In exceptional conditions, such as a halt in the underlying market or a disruption at the liquidity provider, you may be unable to open or close positions in an instrument, and its price may stop updating, until normal conditions return.
9. Costs and charges
9.1 Charges reduce your result on every trade, including trades that lose. Check the spread, commission and swap of an instrument before you trade, and remember that spreads move with the market and swap is charged later, at the rollover. The current figures for every instrument are on the fees page.
9.2 Spread. You buy at the higher price and sell at the lower price; the spread is the difference between them. The Standard account has no commission; its markup is in the spread ($1 a lot on currency pairs, 50% of the spread on metals, indices and energy).
9.3 Commission. Raw and Pro trade on the liquidity provider's raw spread plus commission per lot, charged once when the position opens: $7 on Raw and $5 on Pro. It covers both opening and closing the position.
9.4 Swap. A position held open through the broker's daily rollover, at broker midnight, is charged or paid a swap, which depends on the instrument and the direction of the position. Today the Wednesday rollover counts three nights on every instrument; the triple-swap day of each instrument is shown in the contract specifications. The tables on the website show swap in US dollars per lot per night. The rates are the same on every account: the liquidity provider's rate with a 50% markup, so a charged swap is made larger by that share and a paid swap smaller. On some instruments the swap is a charge in both directions. Holding positions for weeks or months can cost more than the spread and commission together.
9.5 Funding costs. OGOFX charges no fee on deposits; the network fee for sending a deposit is paid by the sender, in BNB, to the network. Each withdrawal carries the withdrawal fee of 1 USDT. Both are described in the Regulations for Non-Trading Operations.
10. Risks of each market
Forex
10.1 Currency pairs react to interest rates, inflation, trade flows and government action. Central banks can intervene, fix or float a currency without notice. Crosses and less traded pairs often have wider spreads and larger gaps than the major pairs.
Metals
10.2 Gold, silver, platinum and palladium are sensitive to the US dollar, real interest rates and industrial demand. Platinum and palladium trade in smaller markets and can show wide spreads and sharp moves.
Indices
10.3 Index CFDs follow equity indices in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Their sessions follow those markets, they can gap at the open, and some are priced in currencies other than US dollars, which adds exchange rate risk.
Energy
10.4 Crude oil and natural gas respond to production decisions, inventories, weather and geopolitical events. Their prices can move by large amounts in a single day, and their swaps can be high.
11. Execution and counterparty risk
11.1 Your CFDs are contracts between you and OGOFX and their value depends on OGOFX being able to meet its obligations to you.
11.2 OGOFX routes client orders to its liquidity provider's MetaTrader 5 servers. Prices, fills and the availability of instruments depend on that provider. A failure, delay or change of terms at the liquidity provider can affect execution, prices and access to your positions.
11.3 If OGOFX or its liquidity provider became insolvent or ceased to operate, you could lose some or all of the money in your accounts and your open positions could be closed. You should not assume that any compensation or deposit protection scheme applies to your money.
11.4 Trading limits apply. A trading account can hold up to 2 lots open in any one instrument, so the largest order is 2 lots. The limit applies to each instrument on each account, not to all the account's positions together. The smallest order is 0.01 lots in steps of 0.01; some instruments have a larger minimum lot and step, shown in the contract specifications. An order that breaks these limits is rejected.
12. Technical and platform risk
12.1 The OGOFX web terminal runs in your browser on a computer or a phone. Trading depends on your device, your browser, your internet connection, OGOFX systems, the liquidity provider and the networks between them. Any of these can fail, slow down or be interrupted.
12.2 A failure may stop you from opening, changing or closing positions, may delay prices or orders, or may show prices that are out of date. Orders placed during a disruption may be filled late, at a different price, or not at all. Positions stay open and continue to gain or lose value while you cannot reach the terminal.
12.3 Prices, charts and figures shown on the website are indicative. The price at which you deal is the price in the terminal when your order is filled.
12.4 Use an up-to-date browser and a stable connection, keep your own record of your orders, and set stop losses with the risks in section 7 in mind. If you cannot reach the terminal, write to support@ogofx.com. Support is available 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
13. Account security
13.1 Anyone who signs in to your client portal can trade, move money between your wallet and trading accounts and request withdrawals. You are responsible for keeping your email account, password and devices secure.
13.2 Use a password of at least 10 characters with letters and numbers that you do not use anywhere else, and turn on two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app. Keep your recovery codes offline in a safe place.
13.3 Do not give your password, two-factor codes or recovery codes to anyone, including someone who says they work for OGOFX. Send deposits only to the address shown in your client portal, and treat any message that gives you a different address as fraud.
14. Risks of funding with USDT
14.1 OGOFX accepts deposits and pays withdrawals only in USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20). Crypto-asset transfers carry risks that bank payments do not.
USDT itself
14.2 USDT is a stablecoin issued by a third party, not by OGOFX. It is designed to hold a value of one US dollar but is not legal tender and is not guaranteed by any government or by OGOFX. Its market value can fall below one dollar, and the issuer can freeze or restrict tokens. OGOFX credits USDT to your account in US dollars one to one; any loss of value of USDT outside OGOFX is your risk.
Network and fees
14.3 Transfers are made on BNB Smart Chain, a public blockchain that OGOFX does not control. The network can be congested, slow or interrupted, and a deposit is credited only after the network confirms the transfer (a deposit above $50 after a check by the OGOFX team). Sending a transfer needs a network fee, paid in BNB by the sender, which varies with network conditions and is not set by OGOFX.
Wrong network, wrong token, wrong address
14.4 Each trading account has its own deposit address. Send only USDT, only on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), and only to the address shown for that account in your client portal. USDT sent on another network (for example Ethereum ERC20 or Tron TRC20), any token other than USDT, or a transfer to a wrong or mistyped address may not be credited and may be lost permanently.
Irreversible transfers
14.5 Blockchain transfers cannot be cancelled or reversed once sent. A withdrawal paid to the address you give is final, even if the address is wrong or belongs to someone else. Check every character of a withdrawal address before you submit it.
Your own wallet
14.6 If you hold USDT in a wallet or on an exchange outside OGOFX, the security of that wallet is your responsibility. Lost private keys, compromised devices and failures of third-party exchanges can result in the loss of your funds before they reach OGOFX or after they leave it.
Law and tax
14.7 Laws on crypto-assets differ between countries and change often. Holding, sending or receiving USDT may be restricted or taxed where you live. You are responsible for checking that you may lawfully use USDT to fund your account.
15. Legal, regulatory and tax risk
15.1 Changes in law, regulation or the policy of a government, a central bank or the operators of the underlying markets can affect the instruments you trade, the terms OGOFX can offer, and your ability to trade or move money.
15.2 Trading CFDs may not be permitted for residents of some countries. You are responsible for making sure that opening an account and trading with OGOFX is lawful where you live. OGOFX does not serve residents of the United States.
15.3 You are responsible for any tax on your trading results and on your transfers. OGOFX does not give tax advice.
16. No advice and no guarantees
16.1 OGOFX provides execution only. It does not give investment, financial, legal or tax advice, does not manage accounts, and does not assess whether a trade is suitable for you.
16.2 Prices, charts, studies and any market information on the website or in the terminal are for information only. They are not a recommendation to buy or sell and they do not guarantee any result.
16.3 No one acting for OGOFX may promise you a profit, a fixed return or protection from loss. Treat any such promise as unauthorised.
17. Before you trade
17.1 Before you trade, make sure that you:
- understand how CFDs, leverage, margin and stop-out work;
- know the contract size, sessions, spread, commission and swap of the instrument;
- have chosen a leverage you understand;
- can afford to lose all of the money in your trading account;
- can watch your positions, or have set orders that limit your risk, knowing they are not guaranteed;
- have read the Client Agreement, the Terms of Business and the Regulations for Non-Trading Operations.
17.2 If you are unsure whether CFD trading is right for you, seek independent advice before you trade.
18. Questions, complaints and changes
18.1 Questions about this disclosure can be sent to support@ogofx.com. Support is available 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday.
18.2 To make a complaint, email support@ogofx.com with the word “Complaint” in the subject line, and give your registered email address, the account number concerned, what happened and the outcome you want. OGOFX answers in writing by email. This is the one complaints procedure for every OGOFX document, as set out in the Client Agreement.
18.3 OGOFX may change this Risk Disclosure. The new version is published on this page with its new effective date at the top. Changes are notified in the same way as changes to the Client Agreement and the Terms of Business. The version in force is the one published on this page.
